Kristin Waddell joined AEI as the Chief Financial Officer in May of 2026, having previously served as the Controller from 2013 to 2015. With more than 20 years of finance experience across both the public and private sectors, she brings a strong background in budgeting, financial analysis, and operational management. Her approach is noted for balancing strategic planning with day-to-day fiscal oversight while building strong working relationships across organizations and leadership teams.

Most recently, she served as Finance Director/CFO for Chisago County, overseeing a budget of more than $100 million and leading financial operations, compliance, and long-term fiscal strategy. Kristin is recognized for building strong financial controls, improving operational efficiency, and partnering with leadership to support revenue growth and responsible stewardship of public resources.

Ms. Waddell holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas. When not overseeing AEI’s financial operations, she enjoys camping, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her family.
